Airpac Bukom was formed after the acquisition of Bukom Oilfield Services. Creating a genuine global hub network in support of the well test, pipeline and rig maintenance sectors in the oil and gas industry.

TPA wagon and Trax panels

The most recent division to join the Vp group, TPA specialises in temporary access solutions for roadways, pedestrian walkways, bridges and pitch cover requirements. In this year Vp also acquired ESS Safety Services and the Dudley Vale piling equipment rental activity.

Groundforce Shorco

2004

Groundforce developed UK market leadership throughout the noughties, acquiring Mechplant, Tenchshore, and Eve Shorco, complemented by the establishment of Piletec, and the acquisition of Stopper Specialists.

Hire Station branch

2001

Hire Station, a national tool hire business supporting industry, construction and DIY was formed through the merger of five regional tool hire businesses.

The company re-launched as Vp plc to signify the move away from general plant hire to specialist equipment rental.

Formation of UK Forks, the market leading provider of rough terrain fork lift trucks to housebuilders and construction companies throughout the UK.

Torrent trackside equipment being used

Following privatisation of the rail industry in the UK, Vibroplant entered the sector by the acquisition of Torrent Trackside, which specialised in the rental of rail specific portable plant and associated trackside services, in support of the UK railway infrastructure.

Cannon tool hire acquired 1996

1996

Vibroplant exited the American rental market, selling American Hi-Lift to Primeco for £44.6m. In the same year, it acquired Cannon Tool Hire, a long-established company with six branches based in Kent.

Large width trench box systems

1991

Groundforce becomes Vibroplant’s biggest acquisition in the UK to date. The buy out from SGB group more than doubled the size of the trench shoring business.

Vibroplant made a strategic investment in the USA, buying Florida Hi-Lift Corporation , a young aerial platform rental company based in Tampa, Florida.

Shorpak, the specialist shoring division was created delivering hydraulic support of trenches and other excavations.

Airpac brand on a Scramm compressor

Airpac division was created. Our first move into specialist equipment, supplying high capacity air compressors for rock drilling and industrial applications, soon expanding into the oil and gas sector in the North Sea and UK.

Stock market flotation

The company was floated on the stock market, and became Vibroplant plc.

The company changed its name to Vibroplant and the “V” logo was adopted.

The opening of the first section of the M1 helped to propel the company to over ten years of unbroken profits growth.
